Tips on other costs that you will incur, especially after buying a property
Insurances
After purchase, you should immediately take out the usual insurance policies. We can recommend fire insurance, which is best taken out with a Croatian insurance company.
Electricity, water and sewerage
If your property is located in a developed area, it can be connected to the electricity grid and water supply. Waste water must be disposed of either via an existing sewer system or via a separate septic tank.
Telephone and Internet
As in Germany, you can get a telephone and Internet connection from Telekom. However, the documents are in Croatian and you should be able to speak the language or ask for help. Information and contracts are available on the Croatian Telekom website: www.hrvatskitelekom.hr
